Supersoul is back! Miami Producer/ Engineer Omar Clemetson once again delivers the goods!
With over a decade in the game, his unique blend of rugged Hip-Hop beats and dubbed-out basslines
have been featured on countless records and CD's for the likes of Lex Records, Fabric Records,
JAG Label, Botanica Del Jibaro / Arepaz, Bomb Mitte, Bottom Heavy, and of course Metatronix. With
such an extensive and eclectic discography to boast, Supersoul has built a reputation of uncompromising
vision and boundary stretching production. His debut album "40 Acres and a Moog" (released in 2002)
was highly praised and quickly became an underground classic. Supersoul now presents the next chapter in his evolution as a producer. His sophomore release appropriately named "Plastic Rap" refers to the commercialization of Hip-Hop. "Plastic Rap's" intergalactic sound reminds you of eighties Electro Funk yet hardcore at times like Hip-Hop form the Bronx, and as always traces of Supersoul's Jamaican roots can be heard in his bass-driven beats. The new album features some of today's best and underrated MC's and DJ's, including: Dynas, Shadowhuntaz, Cyne, Infamous, Stres a.k.a. Antennae, Induce, Dejah, Judah Manson, Sess and dancehall superstar Anthony B. This hand picked crew of emcees are the verbal counterparts to Supersoul’s production. All are able to push the creative boundaries and still deliver authentic Hip-Hop with effortless ease. This “Plastic Rap” is without a doubt tough, durable and guaranteed fresh!
FEATURED ARTISTS ANTHONY B - is a Dancehall/ Reggae legend! He has released 11 albums and 500 singles in the past 10 years, and has recorded with Hip-Hop artists Wyclef Jean, Bonecrusher, Snoop Dogg and many others. DYNAS - has recorded songs with (9th wonder, Little Brother, Master Ace, DJ Spinna, Slick Rick, ILL Mind, SHADOWHUNTAZ - are best known for their releases on Skam produced by Dutch duo Funckarma. They are pioneers of the abstract hip hop, their first release on Plug Research back in 98 was way ahead of it's time. CYNE - has recorded with Ninja Tune artist Daedelus as well as released albums on City Center Offices and Botanica Del Jibaro. INFAMOUS - is a member of the turntablist crew The Allies along with DJ Craze, A-Track, and others. INDUCE - is 1/3 of the group Antennae on Botanica Del Jibaro. He has also released records on Counterflow and Wondersound and collaborated with DJ Craze and Infamous from The Allies. STRES - A.K.A. Spirit Agent is 1/3 of the group Antennae on Botanica del Jibaro, He was the first artist to be released on Counterflow Recordings and he is a pioneer of the now famous Miami abstract Hip-Hop scene. Stres has also traveled the world collaborating live with Supersoul. JUDAH MANSON - has been featured on countless Supersoul tunes. He has also worked with Push Button Objects and Japanese producer DJ Hide. SESS - is a rising star in the Jamaican Dancehall scene, he has been featured on some of the hottest rhythms along side artists such as Beenie Man, Buju Banton, Round Head. Sess has also worked with Push Button Objects, Vast Aire of Cannibal Ox, Akrobatik and Maintain of the Rec Center. He is now working with Jamaican Producer Sky Juice. [producer of Sean Paul's latest Hit "Temperature"] DEJAH - is a veteran Miami MC, he was featured on Counterflow recording's "A side of Counterflow" release and on Da All's "F.O.T." (a.k.a. Da Alliance's) single on Detonator records. He is currently working with Skam2? and Shadowman from Old World Disorder.
